Dancing in the Moonlight
BY CAROLE NICHOLS
We were dancing in the moonlight,
To life's sweet and soulful song;
With every step, you showed me
This is just where I belong.
I waltzed into your arms,
Where it felt so right to be;
And though you held me close,
I have never felt so free.
The music that we danced to,
Spoke directly to my heart;
Made me want to linger there,
To see what the night would start.
What I've searched for all my life,
I may have found right here;
In the valley of the shooting stars,
Looking in your eyes, so clear.
Will you take my hand and guide me,
To the place your soul abides;
Let me see it's many layers,
Let me touch it's many sides?
Will you show me all life's magic
With every move you make?
Will what you offer be there,
When from this dream, I wake?
Will the stars fall all around us,
Surround us with their glory,
If this course we're following
Brings us to our own love story?
As we dance in the moonlight,
Each movement sure and right;
I've never felt as peaceful
As I do with you tonight.
