The Waterfall

BY CAROLE NICHOLS

We stand here, together, as one,
Gently covered by the falling mist;
A sublime joy refreshing our hearts,
By the fall of the water, we are kissed.

We look up and up until we see,
Our hopes and dreams in the rainbow there;
Arching to heaven and sparkling bright,
A symbol of the sweet love we share.

Cool, foamy water flows over the rocks,
Is the blood in our souls merging to one;
The song that it sings is a rhapsody wild,
It forms a pool in the warmth of the sun.

There, we bathe in the heady sweet water,
Refreshing and renewing this love of ours;
What we feel grows more lovely every day,
There, in the pool, surrounded by flowers.

The waterfall showers us with paradise,
For it ever changes; it never ends.
Let us stay in this place of our waterfall,
For this is the place where forever begins.
