Two Strong Arms
BY CAROLE NICHOLS
When I am so tired at the end of the day,
I want two strong arms to take my cares away.
When I'm not quite myself, or just feeling blue,
I want those same arms to offer comfort, too.
When I awaken, so afraid in the night,
I want them to hold me and ease my fright.
When I feel alone, without a friend,
On those strong arms I want to depend.
When I feel wary and so unsure,
I want warm arms to make me feel secure.
I want those arms to take me to paradise,
And for that, alone, it's worth the price;
To open up my heart once more;
To let those arms carry me through love's door.
Yet greater than all of passion's charms,
Is just to be held by two strong arms.
