DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT

Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

One of my favorite all-time poems. I will always rage against the dying of the light

  1. Would have liked reading this, while listening to "Carole Of The Bells."

  3. Oh, well.

I'd get whipped to bits in that 'fanbox' anyway.

  4. I did think "Carole Of The Bells" was a good suggestion.

And so it goes...nice to see David and Bing, too!

Already visited that 'YouTube' episode (or whatever...whatchamacallit), too.

Sure wish I was a step ahead of you, but know I'm not.

Reminds me of a trip to the moon, and what was that about a giant leap for mankind?

  5. This is a whole lot more nice than thinking of that Baby 'they've been talkin' all about' for months now, and seems all these networks have been dividing...like vultures, into tiny bones and fragments...when what good does that do?

Then switch that channel and see "Feed The Children"...and it just blows me away.

Sure wish they'd spend a little more time talking about all of those babies.

Just seems cheap, like they don't want to investigate...well of course, it is cheap...no reporters or writers needed.

    Really, it's rather sick.

They spent 6 months on HKS (an estimate), then they got a hold of CAYLEE and they ain't done yet.

Then you never hear the 'rest of the story' yet...

I know tangents, and when to turn the channel, too...sometimes.

But when you get right down to it...they've got college educations and 'Advertising' (blood money) pouring in.

And what good will become this or that?

    I'm just beside myself.

However, looks to me like 3 major Networks have split that baby up for their gain no matter how she was lost.

  6. I can count and read myself right out loud...even when I make a mistake...

Like reading poetry instead of writing it.

Or getting off my arse, and doing something about the things I dislike.

"Puff The Magic Dragon" has nothing to do with drugs...until now that I think about it...

Just like "The Wizard Of OZ."

Burst my little bubble, go ahead of me please.

  8. Well, there was this friend that my oldest brother had, and he played the guitar and came to our house and played music with my mother.

My mother played all kinds of instruments...

Anyway, to make a long story short, this guy played the guitar like there was no tomorrow...and I seriously doubt he did any drugs.

    Seriously doubt.

I didn't much like most of the country music they played but just for me he'd play that "Puff The Magic Dragon" for me.

True Story, as honest as gospel gets.

  9. And, another one bites the dust.

Seems "The Righteous Brothers" claimed their right to fame, and another one bites the dust...

    that unchained melody...

Of course, probably, more than likely, maybe if you search for it, you'll find it again and again..

Seems some folks keep fighting a losing battle, 'til the really long arm of "The Law" finally gets 'hold of it.

Maybe, hopefully, someday, over the rainbow?
