Guardian Angel
BY CAROLE NICHOLS
When you are sitting alone, lost and forsaken,
When you look back and mourn all the paths not taken,
There's someone waiting just out of sight
To soothe the aches and make everything right.
When you feel like time is passing you by,
When the rain fails to hide the tears that you cry,
That special someone with you sheds a tear,
Yet sends a sublime message of comforting cheer.
When confusion pulls hard in the depths of your mind,
When you search and can't find one soul who is kind,
If you close your eyes, you may feel a warm touch,
There's someone near who cares very much.
When you're tired to the bone, yet there's no time to rest,
When you know you've lost, though you've given your best,
Reach out, for she's there, in that dark lonely place,
If you try, you can touch her hands and her face.
And though you can't see her, she's as close as a kiss,
In your mind she lives for moments like this.
She supports and protects you as you go through your day,
Reach out, go home, let her guide your way.
