Sleeping Beauty

BY CAROLE NICHOLS

Listen closely, you can hear her sigh,
As she steals away to slumberland;
Sinking into that place of dreams,
Where everything is hers to command.

As she snuggles into the pillow soft,
Where will those dreams take her tonight?
To a present memory, or to the past,
Or to future hopes will she take flight?

There's a smile on her lips as she drifts,
Aglow in the beauty of the magic in her heart;
She pulls her pillow close to her breast,
Her mind taking hold, soul ready to start.

If you watch her sleep you will see
How lovely she is as she dreams her dreams;
For dreams are wishes her heart makes,
The part of her soul where her memory gleams.
