Just As I Am
BY CAROLE NICHOLS
I come to you with nothing,
No fortune or fame can I claim;
My heart and my soul are all that I have,
If you want me, you must take me
Just as I am.
I can't make you fancy promises,
To give you the moon and the stars
But I can give you all that I have,
The strength and steadfastness of my love,
If you want me, you must take me
Just as I am.
I can't say there won't be thorns,
Nor trials to press upon our lives,
But with the woe comes sweet enchantment,
And boredom will find no place to light,
If you want me, you must take me
Just as I am.
My heart and soul which is all I have,
Stand ready to hold onto something good,
They will stand steady and true beside you,
In the long run, there'll be no regrets,
So if you want me, then please take me
Just as I am.
