With You

BY CAROLE NICHOLS

I like to just be with you,
Walking barefoot on a snow white beach;
Feeling the warmth of the sun on my face,
Knowing your hand's within easy reach.
Or sitting by you at day's end,
When the sun sets low as we watch the tide;
For I'm at peace with the world,
With you, right there, by my side.

With you, there's a feeling of subtle joy,
That needs no effort to make it shine;
You're the dearest of friends, but more too,
You're the one who healed this heart of mine.
I'd like to be with you at the break of dawn,
There, on the beach, with sand washed new;
To experience the birth of a brand new day,
To find a new dream, this one with you.
