And What are Words
BY CAROLE NICHOLS
You say you don't have the words,
But, oh, my love, to me you do speak;
Cracking the foundation of my walls,
With a power that leaves my knees weak.
The force of your feelings spin me around,
Each time you touch my cheek tenderly;
Moves me to tears of pure, sweet joy,
As the warmth of your hand flows over me.
Your wise eyes shout for the world to hear,
All the things you think you don't say;
You believe I'm the answer to your prayers,
You glow with your love for me, everyday.
Your very actions speak loud and clear,
There's nothing you do without me in mind;
You honor me with the gift of your heart,
So full of the words you say you can't find.
And what are words but another way to speak,
A collection of letters that form a sound;
Your words come to me from the depth of you,
The most beautiful words I've ever found.
