In the Arms of My King

By CAROLE NICHOLS

How white the night seen through my eyes,
How brilliantly the stars did shine;
Their sparkle shimmering within my skin,
I danced in the stars, for he was mine.

And the clouds that we danced upon
Were rainbowed hues of softest down;
In his arms I floated in mystic joy,
As he spun me round and round.

The air held the taste of honeysuckle,
And his lips were nectar sweet;
Smiling as we danced into the dawn,
In his arms I felt so complete.

What place we were I cannot say,
For it seemed the place of a perfect dream;
I was moved with a fragile fairy song,
Held just so, in the arms of my king.
