One More Mile

BY CAROLE NICHOLS

Should I have to decide
Between loving you and eternity,
I'd pull you close, hold you tight;
For you mean more than life to me.

Were my time be dated so I knew
Which tomorrow would never arrive;
I'd walk with you one more mile,
For you make me feel alive.

I'd rather have just one moment
Gazing into your lovely eyes,
Than to see the wonders of the world
Love took me a while to recognize.

I rather have just one more touch,
If it comes from your gentle hands,
Than to live forever without you,
For your love makes no demands.

Had I but one last wish to make,
I could not ask for more
Than to walk with you, one more mile,
And the boundries of your love explore.
